Description

Senior J2EE Developer required for a large multinational organisation based in Cork.

 

Reporting into a Development Team Lead the successful candidate will join an existing team in the development of a new enterprise wide application. The ideal candidate will have development experience with J2EE, JMS, Struts, HTML, JSP, JavaScript, WebSphere Application Server and Apache server.  

 

Role / Opportunity

  • Build and enhance mission critical intranet applications to support financial services activities 
  • Design & Develop new functionality that integrate on an ESB layer. The backend data and logic is processed via a legacy system where the front end and service components should be developed on a J2EE MVC based Java programming interface
  • Working on large enterprise system design and development integration with multiple satellite systems

 

Skills / Experience:

  • Extensive experience in the design and development of web based Java applications using IBM Rational Tools
  • At least 5 years successful Java/WebSphere projects delivering secure, reliable and efficient software products
  • Minimum of 3+ years on JMS programming including design and deployment of messaging based systems
  • Experience in designing SOA architecture and experience with Sonic ESB would be an added advantage. 
  • Experience developing SQL statements, triggers etc using Oracle
  • Experience with development in WebSphere
  • Familiarity with UNIX system administration
  • A good team player with excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • B.S degree major in mathematics or computer science
