Description
Our client, a leading telecommunications company is currently seeking a Server & Storage Senior Support Engineer to join their team based in Dublin on a permanent basis.
Role / Opportunity
- To provide a highly competent level of support expertise for server and storage components of the companies technology infrastructure and associated system software, ensuring efficient operation, performance and integrity of infrastructure and system software and the supported applications.
- As a member of the Server & Storage support and maintenance team, meeting the target service levels for internal and external customers, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and applications on server & storage devices and contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.
- The primary role purpose is the support and maintenance of server, storage, archiving, backup and recovery infrastructure in accordance with company policies and service level targets for the end user services.
- The role will involve support & maintenance for infrastructure located in any of the companies datacentres or equipment rooms
Skills / Experience
- Server and storage device hardware, both non-virtual and virtual environments
- Open Systems Server OS – Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, FreeBSD, Linux,
- Server applications such as web server, AAA, LDAP
- Storage, archiving, backup and recovery technologies and applications Shell scripting
- Server and storage system utilities
- IP networking
- Server and Storage system security
- System software integration and package management
- Troubleshooting in the server and storage environment
- ITIL-based processes: incident and problem management, Asset & Configuration Management.
