Description
Our client, a leading Telecommunications Company, is currently recruiting for a Head of Project and Bid Management to join their Dublin based team on a on a contract basis.
Role / Opportunity:
To design, implement and manage efficient bid management and project management processes which will actively and comprehensively take ownership of and manage our formal tenders and major proposals ensuring the timely submission of winning bids and the effective implementation of all change and development projects for the wholesale organisation.
- Contribute to the development and review of an annual operating plan for the business area
- Play a lead role in continuous improvement activities within the business unit
- Manage the development of full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
- Ensure that project scope, goals and deliverables are understood and agreed with senior management and stakeholders
- Ensure agreement to project schedule plans (including resourcing, critical paths, risk mitigations, milestones etc.)
- Manage escalations and agree resolutions to project jeopardies as appropriate
- Develop a bid response process from qualification to bid closure
- Ensure that throughout the bid process there is appropriate business control and governance, develop and implement corrective action steps where required
- Implement a performance management and personal development process for all direct reports and ensure that the process is cascaded to all staff members in the business area.
- Communicate with the Group, Wholesale and business area strategies, plans and initiatives effectively to all business area staff.
- Manage the bid teams to ensure that responses are delivered within the required time scales and to the highest standards expected
Skills / Experience:
• At least 5 years experience in Project Management with commercial responsibilities
• Project Management Training, or PMI
• Ability to identify, evaluate and communicate new business opportunities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, in person, in presentations and on paper
• Knowledge of the telecommunications business (preferred)
• Experience in developing and managing internal and external cross functional teams (Essential)
