Description
Berkley Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Automation Design Engineer to work on a long term contract with our Biopharma client in Cork.
Role/Opportunity:
- Develop automation functional specifications and software design specifications by working closely with Process Engineers and operations representatives
- Work collaboratively with the application software developers to produce automation software that meets these specifications
- Lead/Participate in design reviews and software code reviews
- Develop test specifications, and execute testing of the application software in a simulated test environment
- Assist in automation support necessary for start-up and commissioning of the facility
- Proactively work with the Computer System Validation Engineer to ensure these deliverables and work practices comply with the project validation and documentation requirements
- Abide by all safety requirements and procedures pertaining to their role
Skills/Experience
- BS Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years working experience in Biopharma engineering , operations, or manufacturing
- Prior Process Engineering experience is strongly desired
- Preferable, 5 years experience in batch automation design and distributed control system design
- Preferable, Instrumentation knowledge
- Demonstrated team work abilities
- Knowledge of GMP’S, regulatory requirements , computer system validation
- Good written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
