Description
Reporting into the Systems Administration Manager the successful candidate will be a self-starting, self reliant, individual with excellent communication skills. As part of a growing team you will be responsible for providing 24x7 production support for mission critical environments accessed worldwide.
Role / Opportunity
Deal with day-to-day server issues in a high availability, highly transactional production environment
Perform UNIX administration tasks – server builds, patching, user administration, cluster management, software installations, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Resolve and document system errors and performance issues.
Perform root cause analysis of critical errors and outages.
Identify and resolve customer issues
Skills / Experience
At least two years of relevant UNIX administration experience
UNIX Solaris experience preferable but experience in AIX, HP-UX etc also considered
Shell, Perl, awk, scripting is a plus
Experience working in a high availability 24x7 support environment preferable
Ability to work a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule and provide off-hours support
Excellent problem solving and communication skills
