Description
Our client, an IT & Software development company, is currently recruiting a Senior Software Developer to join its Galway/Dublin based team in a contract role.
The successful candidate must have proven experience in providing, designing, and developing as a Senior Java Developer.
Role / Opportunity:
The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in implementing several Java-based solution components, including:
• A data file interface manager responsible for receipt of inbound data files, file compression/decompression, file encryption/decryption, and file transfer
• A business rules orchestrator for consuming integrated employee data and interfacing with a business rules management system
• An administration web application for batch monitoring and support
• Assist in the estimation, planning, and management of work within the company’s methodology.
• Work closely with the product line architect, business analysts, database developers, Java developers, ETL developers, QA testers, and administration groups to understand requirements and develop appropriate solutions that are right-sized, and scalable
• Produce clear, concise design documentation and reviews to facilitate quality assurance testing
• Validate that the system implementation meets business and technical specifications and ensure that any issues raised during testing are addressed prior to migration into production and manage ongoing maintenance of the system and data
Skills / Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years of Java and JEE programming experience
• Strong understanding and experience with object-oriented programming concepts
• Experience working with ubiquitous open source tools such as Spring, iBatis, log4j
• Experience consuming web services and other types of remote services
• Experience implementing MVC-style web applications
• Experience with Oracle database and SQL
• Strong writing and oral presentation skills
• Experience working in a distributed team
• Agile methodology experience is a plus
